A client was redecorating her bedroom as a 15th anniversary gift from her husband (great guy!) and was in search of a large dresser to go along with her Hollywood Regency vision. After searching, I found this great dresser with tons of storage and we decided that that was THE piece. Here she is before her transformation:
Certainly not a bad dresser, but definitely in need of some color and some bling! Here is how she turned out:
I used straight up Annie Sloan Graphite with details highlighted in a Graphite/Old White mix, and the roping in a custom mixed silver. I finished her off with some clear wax and crystal glass knobs and pulls. My client loved it! It complimented her Hollywood Regency style and finished off her room beautifully. I have to say, it was hard to let her go - definitely one of my favorite pieces to date!

This mid-century modern style buffet was crying out for a good old fashioned wash. This was my first attempt at this process and I loved doing it! I used a base of Annie Sloan Paris Grey and let that dry. I then applied a watery mix of Paris Grey and Graphite, wiping off the paint immediately after I applied it leaving this very cool darker grey striations. After that dried I applied some clear and dark wax. After a little distressing she was finished!
This was my inspiration piece from Kathy Kuo Home -- love that site!
It is a beauty that will set you back a mere $1,375.
Although not an exact match, I was happy with how it turned out.
